Come spend a half day at the Treasure Goddess Studio Barn making something inspiring with a small group of creative friends! Barrie Mason, artist and bookmaker, will be leading a workshop where you will make your very own personalized creative journal. This hands-on workshop will lead you step by step through the bookmaking process. I know Barrie from our local fiber guild and her enthusiasm and creativity just makes me HAPPY! I'm so excited to introduce her to you.

"But I'm a knitter! Why would I want to do this workshop?" --- BECAUSE you're a creative person! Let's flex those creative brain cells and expand your horizons by making a lovely handmade book you can use to record your projects, take notes on ideas for future knitting and more. It's SO good for us creative people to widen our horizons a bit and I find working in a different fiber art or craft can jump start my knitting mojo too!

Why would you need a creative journal? It's perfect for recording daily thoughts, a sketch pad, project ideas for the future or to document your fiber arts creations. These journals also make lovely gifts.

This hands-on workshop will lead you step by step through the bookmaking process.  We’ll be making a 6” x 4.5” journal with 72 pages of 80lb drawing paper. Each group of pages will be wrapped in origami paper and covered in your choice of leather, KraftTex, or cork fabric. The closure will also be your choice and can be a button and bead tie or a metal button stud. In the process you will learn basic book making skills that can aid you in making books on your own.

Workshop Includes:

  • Coffee, croissants & other breakfast treats
  • Step by step instructions on basic bookmaking techniques
  • Your own creation of a 6" x 4.5" journal with 72 pages of 80 lb drawing paper
  • All supplies & tools provided
  • Goody Bag with creative extras to use with your new journal

Open to all skill levels. This is a class for adults and young people, not appropriate for young children. Sharp objects will be involved.

All supplies and tools will be provided. Students may wish to bring buttons and beads they may use on their book, but the instructor will provide a selection as well.
